2. Prepare your application
Begin with finding your programme in the Jagiellonian University Online Application System at www.erk.uj.edu.pl or following one of the “Apply here” buttons on this website.
Once there, read carefully all information provided, especially the qualification criteria and required documents tabs. Take note of the admission schedule—if you can’t apply in this application round, there may be another application round in a few weeks, if there are places available.
Make sure well in advance that you will have all the required documents on time. Some documents may take a while to obtain or prepare, so we strongly advise that you begin working on completing your set as early as you can. Please note that some documents are required as you register online while other are only required if you’re admitted to the programme.
Note: You do not have a certificate yet as you are still a student at your school? Unfortunately, you have to graduate first to apply for university admission.

3. Register online
Before you send any documentation to the University, you need to register online in the OAS.
First, you have to create your applicant’s account and fill it with data required for admission (pay special attention to providing a correct email address and a phone number, so we can reach you about your application). You can use this account for making as many application as you wish in a given year.
Then you have to register for the programme you want to apply to. Find the study programme in the catalogue again and click on the “Register now” button in the upper right corner of the page. Make sure you complete all steps of the online application.
4. Confirm your registration
The admission board will only consider applications that are confirmed by the applicant. To confirm your will to apply to the University, there are usually two steps for you to complete:
Pay the application fee.
You may choose one of three currencies to do so: PLN, EUR, or USD. Please note that once you choose a currency, you cannot change it. Application fee needs to be paid by bank transfer (we cannot process credit cards, TransferWise, Western Union nor PayPal).
Application fee is not refundable.
Submit your application documents to the correct email address.
The first document, OAS application form, is generated once you register online: you need to download it, sign in it your handwriting, and scan (or photograph in good quality) the signed form. Other documents should be scanned (or photographed in good quality). All documents should be merged into one PDF file and sent to the email address indicated on the application form.
Once your application is marked as ‘confirmed’ in your OAS account, you’re all set to proceed!
5. Prepare for the exam (not for all programmes)
Some programmes require that you take part in the entrance exam. If that is the case with your application, please note that you may be notified of the exact time and place for your exam even just two days before it is scheduled. To avoid problems with attending the exam, you may take the following precautions:
- check the date of the exam in the admission schedule—this day will not change, and you can plan accordingly;
- if you are unable to come to the exam in person (e.g. problems with obtaining your visa), please check with the students office of the programme if the board allows for Skype interviews.
Exam dates for the School of Medicine in English are arranged directly with the School Office.
6. Check the results online
The results of your application will be available in your OAS account on the day marked in the admission schedule as ‘Announcement of the ranking list’. You will find it in your OAS account. The possible outcomes are as follows:
- ‘admitted’: your application was successful and you may enrol;
- ‘waiting list’: applicants who earned more points than you were admitted, but if they choose not to enrol, you may still be admitted in their place—await further instructions;
- ‘not admitted’: your application was rejected; the notification in your account has more information about reasons for the rejection.
Now that you are admitted, you need to confirm your decision of undertaking a programme by officially enrolling.
Typically, enrolment is completed in person: you should arrive at the students office by the given date, submit the rest of required documents, and sign all documents. However, if you are unable to come to Poland for enrolment, you may either appoint a legal representative who will complete the procedures in your name, or ask for permission for enrolment-by-post.
Pay attention to the dates since if you do not enrol by the given deadline, the board will deny you entry to the programme.
